NORTHERN WHITE ASH is an extremely tough hardwood. It is used for baseball bats, hockey sticks, canoe paddles, high-end cabinetry and furniture, and Chelsea Plank Flooring. The product we use originates from Canada, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Northern Indiana. The material used for our Ash floors has been kiln dried to a temperature will above  the temperature required to kill and ash borers.  Ash has a very pronounced grain structure. It is harder than red oak but has a very similar appearance. The colors listed below are available as 3-4-5” pattern and may be available in select single widths.

ANTIQUE ASH Character and better, long plank. Two color process with rich antique color. Distressed, antiqued, oil-like finish Restoration Series Plank™ is available as a 4-5-4-6” random plank.

NORTHERN RED BIRCH originates from Canada and Wisconsin. Our birch is a mixture of heartwood from the species yellow birch. The raw lumber has been “steamed” to blend the rich red colors and equalize the variations in color to a stunning blend or light to dark pink / red. Red birch is similar in hardness to red oak.

RED RIVER BIRCH is available in 3-4-5-6” random plank. Character and better appearance. Natural color and color variations found in birch.

NORTHERN BLACK CHERRY originates in Michigan, Canada, N.W. Pennsylvania, and Northern Indiana. It differs from American cherry by having consistent color, very little “gum” or “pitch pockets”. Cherry from these regions is also very slow growing and known for fine grain, dimensional stability and classic appearance. Cherry is a “softer” hardwood. It may dent when struck by hard objects.

MOUNTAIN LODGE CHERRY is available as 3-4-5” pattern and may be available in select single widths. Character and better appearance. Aged stain added to give floor rich appearance typical of older cherry floors.

SPRING WATER CHERRY is available in 3-4-5” pattern and may be available in select single widths. Select and better appearance with “aged stain” added.

CHATEAU CHERRY is available as a 4-5-4-6” random plank floor. Character and better, long plank. Distressed, antiqued, oil-like finish.

NORTHERN HARD MAPLE is from Canada, Michigan and Wisconsin. Hard maple is used for butcher blocks, machine pads, and fine cabinetry. Hard maple is extremely dense and hard. Hard maple should not be confused with soft maple species (silver maple, red maple, pacific coast maple) Soft maple is similar in hardness to cherry and lacks the fine grain and extreme hardness found in northern hard maple. CLASSIC LIGHT MAPLE is available in 3-4-5” pattern. Select and better grade, color selected for white maple. Clear finish.

ASPEN MAPLE is available in a 3-4-5” or 3-4-6” pattern or select single widths up to 6”. Select and Better natural maple. Clear finish.

OLD MISSION MAPLE is available in 3-4-5” or 3-4-6”pattern or select single widths up to 6”. Character and better natural maple with knots, burls, and streaks.

NORTHERN HICKORY is from Northern Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Canada. Hickory is harvested in winter months and known for extreme hardness. Hickory was traditionally used for broom, axe, and hammer handles. Natural hickory has a “calico” color ranging between dark amber and snow-white colors. Hickory from the Michigan/Ontario area is about 40% amber, 40% calico blend and 20% solid white planks.

CASTLE PLANK Character and better, long plank. Two color process with rich antique color. Distressed, antiqued with oil-like finish added. Restoration Series Plank™ is available as a 4-5-4-6” random plank.

NORTHERN RED OAK is from Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan. Northern red oak is much harder than most red oak flooring that is produced from fast growth species in North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Kentucky. The color is brighter and growth rings are tight and fine grained. Northern red oak is traditionally used for fine furniture and cabinetry. Red oak is the most abundant hardwood found in the USA.

Red Oak plank floors are available as a 3-4-5” or 3-4-6” pattern floor. Select single widths may be available. CLEAR WATER RED OAK Select and better appearance. Color sorted with mineral and off-color removed. Clear finish added.

SPRING WATER RED OAK Character and better appearance. Heavy towards Select with heavy percentage of clear planks. Occasional sound knots and off color planks. Clear finish.

NORTHERN WHITE OAK is from central Indiana through Wisconsin. Very hard, fine growth rings and grain. White oak was traditionally used for wine barrels, ships decks, and wagon decks. It’s still used extensively for semi trailer flooring. GOLDEN OAK Select and better appearance. Clear finish. DESERT SANDS OAK Character and better appearance. Clear finish. MISSION OAK Rift and quarter sawn grain (vertical grain) character and better appearance with two step color added and full build urethane finish. Shown on Restoration Series display. Available as a 3-4-5-6” random plank and may be available in select single widths. ENGLISH PUB OAK Character and better, long plank. Distressed and antiqued with oil-like finish added. Restoration Series Plank™ is available as a 4-5-4-6” random plank.

AMERICAN BLACK WALNUT is from Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan and Southern Ontario. Black walnut has been steamed before it is kiln dried to even out color. Black walnut is an exotic wood with availability subject to current log production. Wider widths are rare. CLASSIC WALNUT Character and better appearance. Black “highlight tint” added to bring out fine grain. T. CROIX WALNUT Character and better, long plank. Distressed and antiqued with oil-like finish. Restoration Series Plank™ is available as a 4-5-4-6” random plank. On occasion, we will have some 7" to add to this mix.  Walnut is one of the world's rarest woods and we buy lumber at current market costWe have no control over the width of rough planks that we recieve and can only offer out material widths in the percentages as it is available.  We cannot guaranty or assure that we can ship a "pattern" of widths.  Walnut will be shipped with 3 widths and will need to be varified on the shipping paperwork or with our shipping office on the correct pattern to properly utilize all  of the material shipped.
